Windows Saved Password Removal

Its a small issue .

Windows XP offers the ability to save passwords for web sites and network resources. This can be very convenient as opposed to remembering and entering the username and password each time you need access, but it poses a security risk because anyone who has physical access to your computer would also be able to log into those sites using your saved credentials.

While biometrics and other user authentication methods have become more widely used and accepted in recent years, the prevailing method of user athentication remains the username and password. Users have passwords to access their computer, shared network resources, web sites, business applications and other resources.

Different sites and applications have different policies regarding how to create the passwords and standard security practices suggest that users should use a different and unique password for each login. For many users it becomes unruly to recall the various usernames and passwords and they may write them down on a notepad in their desk drawer or put it on a sticky note on their monitor so they can remember them all. Of course, anyone else can also come along and read the passwords as well.

Windows XP offers users the ability to retain passwords so that the authentication information required to login is automatically pre-populated when the different sites or resources are accessed rather than the user having to enter them each time. Because this requires being logged into the computer in the first place it provides some convenience for the user while remaining more secure than writing everything on a sticky note on the monitor. Unfortunately, it is still counter-productive from a security perspective because anyone who sits down at the computer while it is logged in or gains access to your computer user account will subsequently be able to access all of the various sites and resources as if they were the user because of the cached login credentials.

Windows XP does not offer a very easy way to review or remove the saved passwords though. If you follow the steps below though you can access a graphical interface to add, remove or edit the saved passwords on a given system.

1. Click Start and select Run

2. In the Open field type "rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr"

3. Once the Stored Usernames and Passwords interface opens you can select any of the entries and select Properties to view the existing information

4. To remove a saved password you can select one of the entries and select Remove. A confirmation screen will appear. Click on OK and the account will be removed

5. You can add additional saved passwords as well by clicking on the Add button and entering the appropriate information

6. Repeat the steps above as needed to add, remove or edit saved passwords

7. When you are done using the interface click the Close button

Install Mac Leopard OS X Retail DVD on a Ordinary PC with Boot 132 hack

THNX to David Eliott master behind the Boot 132 hack which allows us to Install OSX on P.C. with the Unmodified retail version of mac OSX Leopard. The main benifit of Retail install over modified distro install is with retail install you can update your system directly from apple software updater just like an original Mac Machine. So forget about iAtkos, kalyway, Leo4all etc. & move with retail Install.
.
Requirement’s
  • A PC with Intel Core Processors and Chipset (AMD is not supported).
  • A retail Mac OS X DVD Installer Download Click here or Buy Click here.
  • Download the Chameleon for Hard Disk here.
  • Download the Boot-132 Generic ISO here.
  • If don’t works than download the more modified version.
  • Download Boot-132 ISO with modified kexts here.
  • Before we starts let’s see how it works >>> you burn an Boot-132 Generic ISO (which has the bootloader on it) to a CD/DVD, after it gets to the boot prompt, you press ESC or ENTER and it prompts for a new BOOT DEVICE, you swap the BOOT CD/DVD with the LEO Retail DVD, you press enter and it shows you the name of the bootable partition from the DVD, you press enter and Leo starts to load. Some people pays money to E-FIX for this free & simple trick. The guide is divided into two phase’s first one is for Installing the OSX & second one is to elimnate the need of BootCD evry time while booting.Ready with your poison let’s start.
First of All burn Boot-132 Generic ISO into a C.D. in following tutorial term Boot-132 Generic ISO is replaced with BootCD.

    Phase One >>>

    1. Insert your BootCD into DVD/ROM and boot/start your PC.

    2. On the boot prompt, press Enter. You will be asked to enter a two-digit hexadecimal boot device (do not press any key).

    3. Remove the BootCD and replace it with the Mac OS X Retail DVD. Wait for the blinking light on your DVD drive to stop and then hit Enter (this will read your DVD drive and not your HD).

    4. Perform the Mac OS X Leopard installation. You may need to use Disk Utility (under the Utilities Menu) to partition and format your HD if you haven’t already. Make sure to select GUID (under Options).

    5. Restart after the installation and replace the Retail Mac OS X DVD with the BootCD.

    6. On the boot prompt, press Enter. This time, enter the two-digit hexadecimal of the drive where you installed OS X. Enter 80; if it doesn’t show the startup volume of your OS X, hit Esc. Try 81, and so on until you see your OS X volume. Select it and hit Enter.

Now are in Leopard but you still won’t be able to boot your hackintosh without the BootCD. For overcome the BootCD you need to install external bootloader.

    Phase two >>>

    1. Open Chameleon that you download’s early.

    2. Copy the contents of the Extra directory from the Generic.iso CD by drag & drop in to the Extra Contents folder in Chameleon by following this simple procedure .

Open the Generic.iso CD from your desktop. >>> Double-click on the INITRD.IMG file. >>> Double-click on the Extra folder. >>> Drag the Extensions folder to the Extra Contents folder in Chameleon

    3. Double-click the Chameleon_DFE_for_Hard_Disk.pkg file and install to your hard disk.

    4. Remove the BootCD and reboot.

    5. You should now be able to boot into Leopard without the BootCD.

    1. First of all you have to install Vista. It’s easy and I m sure that you are familiar with it.

    2. Now comes to Partitioning before installing OSX you need to have a partition of minimum 10 GB recommended 20 GB+ . The partition must be formatted as FAT-32 Primary Partition.

You can use Partition Magic or Gparted live cd or Windows Disk Management.

    3. Boot into Windows installation and open Command Prompt { Start < class="IL_SPAN">Command prompt } With Administrative Privillage and run following commands.

    4. In command prompt type DISKPART and press enter . Here we are using DISKPART for making HFS compatible Partition.

    Command Preface
DISKPART> list disk ” This will show you a list of selectable disks. “

DISKPART> select disk n [where n = the disk number]

This will specify which disk to create a new partition on
DISKPART> create partition primary size=n id=af [where n = the size in MB of the partition, For 20 gb space n will be 20000 ]
    [where af = hfs+ compatible]

Will proceed to create a bootable primary partition for the Mac
DISKPART> list partition ” This command will show you the partitions on your selected disk “

DISKPART> select partition n [where n = the newly created OSX partition]

    This will specify the partition
DISKPART> active ” This will make your OS X partition the first-boot active partition

    DISKPART> Exit Exit from DiskPart………..

    5. In Windows Vista you must disable User Account Control [ UAC ].

    6. Put your DVD in rom and restart your computer with the DVD in Drive, now you should see Darwin load screen.

Now you have two option’s Boot with Darwin Bootloader or use VISTA bootloader.

    ________________________________________________________________

For Darwin bootloader follow these instruction.

If you want to use darwin bootloader than skip the step 15.
Darwin has its own dual-boot menu which is easy to activate, just press F8 on your keyboard before the Darwin boot loader prompt and Apple boot logo. The dual-boot menu might appear by itself depending on whether or not the install disc automatically sets the time-out period for you.
If you want to create a time-out that will allow you to select which OS to boot from without pressing F8, follow these instructions:

Firstly, load up Terminal (Applications/Utilities/) from within OS X, then type:
    sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

edit the Darwin time-out flag accordingly:

    Timeout
    8

Press CTRL+O and then Enter to save the file, after which you can safely close the session by pressing CTRL+X.
    - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x

For VISTA bootloader use this guide .

Put the Vista Installation Disc into your DVD drive and restart to boot from it. Click Repair System, press next and then select Command Prompt Type DISKPART and press Enter.

    Command Preface
DISKPART> list disk ” This will show you a list of selectable disks. “

DISKPART> select disk n [where n = the disk number]

Select the disk which Windows Vista is installed to
DISKPART> list partition This will show you the partitions on your selected disk

DISKPART> select partition n [where n = the Windows Vista partition]

    This will specify the partition
DISKPART> active Will make your Windows Vista partition the first-boot active partition

    DISKPART> Exit Exit from DiskPart………..

    Reboot into Windows Vista.
Next, you can either follow the command line BCDEDIT instructions below, or use EasyBCD.

Copy CHAIN0 from your Mac OS X partition or Installation Disc to the root of your Vista partition C:\.

    - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x - x

For Vista Bootloader you can also use BCD-EDIT.

    1) Boot into Vista. Copy the chain0 file from the Leopard DVD to C:

    2) Open the “Command prompt” with “Elevated Admin” privileges from the Start Menu.

    3) Type the following into the prompt

    bcdedit /copy {current} /d “Mac OS X”
    bcdedit /enum active
    bcdedit /set {GUID} PATH \chain0

    4) In the first command type {current} as it is, literally..nothing else..just {current} with the brackets. In the 3rd command however, replace the {GUID} with the alphanumeric GUID you see in the enumerated list under MAC . You can see this list on your terminal as soon as you type the 2nd command above.

    5) Close the Command Prompt and Restart Vista.

    6) You Should now be looking at a screen with two options to boot into Mac OSX or Vista.

Select Mac OSX to see if you can boot into it. You should see the familiar Darwin boot Loading screen with the timer going down. If you dont do anything, then it counts to zero and again shows the menu screen with Vista and MAC OSX options. Dont panic!

Again select MAC OS X, and now as the timer counts down, Press F8. You would see a list of partitions on your disk with their names. Select the partition with MAC OSX installed by using up/down arrows and press ENTER.
